Waking up with Jesus

When you arrive in a place with a good experience, it pretty much sets the tone for the rest.  Of course I am not referring to the experience with the ridiculous black girl.

Rather I am referring to how you are welcomed by the local people in the space where you stay.
Coming in completely late, the lady kindly answered the door and she couldn't have been nicer. She offered me a smaller room, but said that something bigger and more comfortable would open tomorrow.

It felt like I was being welcomed by a family friend. While the room was pretty small, I paid no attention because I was exhausted.  The only thing I wanted to do was get some rest so I could wake up for church.

              The next Morning....

One of the best things is when you wake up with Jesus and a new city.  He's present in the sky, the clouds, the sun, the people, and the church.  After some nice rest, you open the doors to the bright sun lit streets and you just walk around and observe.(Thankful to have a healthy body to walk and walk endlessly). The mornings are so beautiful with the sun shining and businesses just opening up.  You can stop at a local shop or the market.  The market is full of fresh fruit, bread, pastries, and homemade delicacies like cheese stuffed bread.

First arriving at church, I was surprised with the 10 people that were present at the grand cathedral. This is the touristy cathedral, which I stayed 30 seconds away from and only ten people were present. It's important to keep in mind that there are many other wonderful Spanish colonial churches in Leon.

The front service area is mesmerizing for me as I just sit and have my quiet moments with God. It's these moments that are the best part of church for me. It's just pure peace, honesty, vulnerability, and love.

When the priest came out, things started quickly. People began to come in one by one and I turned my head around to see the whole church was full. The music was playing as I heard "Holy Cristo" being repeated along with the guitar and the church choir.  People are friendly kindly extending a warm "Dios contigo" with me.

The Eucharist is more traditional than most, but it's a learning experience. It's an experience where I feel connected and intrigued. Must admit that I did not understand all their rituals, but it was interesting to learn. It was so nice and I felt my engine restart.
I walked over to the cafe to write and order a fresh orange juice.

God introduced me to some lovely locals who owned their own business selling crafts, fruit, clothes, or tourist items.  There was music coming from the streets with the standard paradise on Sundays for Christ.

It's his day and he shined. PRIS
